Fall 2019

Tifft Nature Preserve, Buffalo, NY

Last fall at sunrise, light hit the cottonwood trees and their fall foliage.  Grey storm clouds
in the background accentuated their light, reflected in the Pond.  I was there in early morning as a volunteer. I took this pic with my phone, wishing I had my Nikon with me.

I haven't posted anything in a long while.
I took a stroll in the Japanese Gardens, in Buffalo, with a friend awhile back.

Kind of like the way this turned out.

We had fun shooting that day.

Camp Keenan Sunset Aug. '18

I played around with Intentional Camera Movement technique while at Camp Keenan.  Beautiful in Niagara County on Lake Ontario.

May 2018, Spring has sprung! finally

Just in time for the "Cherry Blossom festival" at the Historical society. Took a walk with my daughter Julie to Japanese Garden and Forest Lawn.  There were a lot of people out enjoying the beauty.

Tour Temple Beth Zion, Delaware Ave.,Buffalo 2/10/18

I took a tour of the Temple Beth Zion in downtown Buffalo today.  It was a very beautiful structure built in 1966 after the previous temple had burned down. It was designed by Max Abramovitz and has been placed on the National Register of Historic sites.  We were priviledged to have the Cantor of the church open the sacred Torah scrolls for us and she chanted part of the sacred text for us.  Very moving.

The sacred scrolls:

These pillars have the 10 commandments inscribed on them, on either side of the Torah

This is the back of the bldg.  I wish I had photographed the front too.  It shows the poured concrete walls.  They lean out at a 15 degree tilt.
