"Whale watching" on the Double Dolphin SB harbor

Scott and I went on "whale watching" catamaran in the Santa Barbara Harbor yesterday evening.

We didn't see any whales but the view was lovely with a sailboat race nearby. We also saw harbor seals lounging on the buoy, pelicans, birds, and a brief glimpse of several porpoises breaking the water.

On board were 42 members of our SB photo club (see Channel City Camera Club website).  The captain and staff of the Double Dolphin
at the Santa Barbara Sailing center were very gracious to us. I recommend them if you're looking for a fun afternoon for your group in SB.

Sunset Hendry's Beach

Scott and I took in the sunset at Hendry's Beach SB the other day.  I need to get down there more often. It's so inspiring to watch the sun go down and the colors that ensue. I feel lucky/ blessed to live only a couple miles away from this magical place.
That's one of the Channel Islands in background of 1st picture..clearer than usual.

Dancing shorebirds

My Church..Unitarian Universalist in SB

Such great people at my church, and fun activities, like the Potluck and dance the other day we enjoyed.  I took some shots of the church grounds to share. Such a lovely space. I especially like the courtyard with the tiled fountain where we gather for coffee between services on Sunday. It's a contained space..Church on one side, adjoined by Parish hall (with it's 3 arches) on the other side, adobe walls and lovely Iron gates, form the enclosure.  The huge  magnolia tree and a type of weeping gracefully draping green tree are part of the landscaping I love.

the courtyard..

The back of church is a stone meditation Labyrinth, and lovely landscaping again:
