Tour Temple Beth Zion, Delaware Ave.,Buffalo 2/10/18

I took a tour of the Temple Beth Zion in downtown Buffalo today.  It was a very beautiful structure built in 1966 after the previous temple had burned down. It was designed by Max Abramovitz and has been placed on the National Register of Historic sites.  We were priviledged to have the Cantor of the church open the sacred Torah scrolls for us and she chanted part of the sacred text for us.  Very moving.

The sacred scrolls:

These pillars have the 10 commandments inscribed on them, on either side of the Torah

This is the back of the bldg.  I wish I had photographed the front too.  It shows the poured concrete walls.  They lean out at a 15 degree tilt.

Model Shoot with Floyd

My friend Floyd has a model shoot in his studio some Saturdays.  I hadn't been there in 6 yrs. while I was in CA.  Good to see him and touch base. It was a fun shoot with models.

"Luminaria" at Bflo. & Erie County Botanical Gardens Feb. '18

Had a fun time at the light show opening night at the Botanical Garden.  There are three large Victorian glass greenhouse structures joined by glass corridors.

My attachable shutter release wasn't working so I decided to play with slow speeds and my zoom lens for some special effects. Each room had different lights and really "spacey" jazz music which enhanced the light tripping fantastic lol. There were a couple video projections of fish on the ceiling, and octopus and fish on the floor. Not sure if I'll be able to post the large video file here.
